Organic Social Media Marketing Strategy for 2023 (Part 2)

Apr 16, 2024

In the social media world, it can feel like the brand that produces the most content wins. However, this approach can often lead to frantically pushing out content with little value that also nets little results. In the Designed to Sell world, we have a different strategy—one that focuses on understanding the unique characteristics of each social media platform and using them to grow and create a thriving community. By posting strategically and effectively, we can reach more people, drive sales, and reclaim our time for the things that truly matter.

If you're making under $5k per month in your business, head over to Part 1 to see what to do from $0-$5k per month in sales.

Understanding Platform Differences: Outreach vs. Nurture

To effectively utilize social media for business purposes, it is crucial to recognize the distinct characteristics and purposes of each platform. Overall, there are two types of social media platforms: outreach and nurture platforms.

Outreach Platforms

Outreach platforms, such as YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok, focus on reaching a wide audience and generating awareness. These platforms thrive on trends, virality, and eye-catching content. Brands that engage in outreach aim to attract new followers, capture attention, and create a buzz around their products or services.

For outreach platforms, it is essential to embrace the trends and create captivating content that stands out in a crowded digital space. By staying in tune with the latest audios, challenges, and viral topics, brands can gain attention, reach new audiences, and ultimately drive sales. However, it's crucial to strike a balance and ensure that the content aligns with the brand's values and objectives.

Nurture Platforms

On the other hand, nurture platforms, like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, emphasize building deeper connections and fostering relationships with existing audiences. These platforms offer a more intimate and professional setting, ideal for cultivating trust and loyalty. Brands that prioritize nurture recognize the value of engagement, interaction, and personalized communication with their followers. By nurturing their audience, they strengthen brand affinity, encourage repeat business, and establish themselves as trusted authorities in their respective industries.

For nurture platforms, the emphasis shifts to building relationships and offering value to the existing audience. This involves active engagement with followers, responding to comments and messages, and sharing insightful and educational content. By nurturing the community, brands can create a loyal customer base, increase referrals, and position themselves as industry experts.

Level TWO Organic Social Media Marketing Plan

The importance of using both nurture and outreach platforms in your social media strategy cannot be overstated. While outreach platforms allow you to reach a wider audience, generate awareness, and attract new followers, nurture platforms play a crucial role in building deeper connections, fostering relationships, and nurturing existing audiences.

By combining the strengths of both types of platforms, you create a holistic approach that maximizes your reach, engagement, and ultimately, your sales. Outreach platforms enable you to expand your brand's visibility and capture attention, while nurture platforms provide the opportunity to cultivate trust, loyalty, and long-term customer relationships.

By utilizing both effectively, you create a balanced and comprehensive social media presence that drives results and positions your brand for sustained success. Here's how we recommend using these platform types if you're making over $5k per month:

 Nurture Platform: Instagram

Post 2-3 times per week on your feed. Carousels or static images that either make people aware of the problem they're facing, educate your client on how, or show your client what's possible when they work with you.

  • 1 trending reel per week
  • Post & sell daily in your Instagram Stories.
  • Focus on starting conversations & building deep connections with people.

Outreach Platform: TikTok & Pinterest

Update your bios to drive people to your Instagram and tell people to join your IG community. Repurpose all TikTok videos to Pinterest idea pins, which can now be scheduled from desktop and have links added! Optimize your Pinterest profile to go to your Instagram account when links are clicked.

  • Post 1-3 times per day (on TikTok)
  • Try one trending audio or "lazy TikTok"
  • One post should show the results you can get
  • One post to educate your community on a topic

Leverage the Right Platform to Do Less Work Over Time

Remember, you're not here to be a mindless content machine. Focus on understanding the nuances of each platform and leveraging them to your advantage. By adopting a strategic approach that combines outreach and nurture techniques, you can reach more people, drive sales, and reclaim your time for the things that truly matter. It's time to hit the ground running and go all f*ckin in on yourself now that you know what to do.
